Antique tribal Khamseh Khorjin complete with plain weave back. Size: 3ft 10in x 2ft 0in (117 x 62cm). The saddle bag faces are very well drawn with a central medallion surrounded by herati. The design is found in Khamseh weaving, usually on bags but also on rugs and carpets. The decorative closing lappets are still in place at the top of each side. The bags have a plain weave back and have wonderful colour. Excellent condition with slight even wear and good pile. The wool is very soft and the bag face has a floppy handle.
