This listing is for a Great Fine Large Vintage Baluchi / Baluchistan Complete Double Cargo Saddle Bags together with their backs, made using Pile, Brocade, and Flat Woven / Kilim weaves. About 21 inches by 58 inches overall length as shown (51 inches not including fringes).
Front and back are continuous and tucked in and brought together at sides through salvaging (so if one opens the salvages, you will have one continuous length), Back piece is done in flat woven kilim and front piled rug and brocade ends of the pile. These pieces can be cut so they result in two large bag faces each measuring about two 21 inches by about 23 inches or more but cutting is not something that I consider as it is a shame to cut a great piece like this. I would just stuff them and keep them as a double pillow, which would be great as a floor seating or even on a piece of furniture. One can also make two 2x2 feet rugs and a 2x5 feet kilim rug by opening sides and cutting accordingly although a double pillow / floor cushion is the desired option, which will function elaborately and last forever. This is one of the nicest pieces of its type that I have got my hands on. It is rather exceptional piece. Weighing about 6.5 lbs net weight. Goat hair salvages are done very well and tight on all the width on both sides and then whip stitched with I think wool thread and brought together. Very fine and well made.
In rather excellent condition with minor loss loss to wool fringes on the two sides of both ends as shown, and like 4 knots on one of the fringed ends nibbled off by moth, The back piece is flat woven kilim. Stuffed, they would make exceptional double cushions Perfect for seating on ground and other situations. Soak washed to perfection so it is brilliant and lustrous and clean enough to touch face with. Great Functional Decoration suitable for just about any setting.
