Bought a stash of parts and included was this set of desert tan genuine leather saddlebags from a 2015 or 2016 Indian Chief Vintage. This leather replaced the 2014 distressed tan leather that faded badly, this leather will maintain its appearance much better. Looks like they have been well cared for and used very little. All snaps and buckles work fine. My experience is bags which have been used a lot and left outside a lot have shrunken tops that don't snap on front and back properly.
On these bags the snaps work fine. I treated the leather with Indian Leather Dressing, not fully absorbed so looks more shiny than they will after the dressing soaks in or evaporates. Not faded, no cuts, no staples pulling loose, no damage.
Note the fringe is missing, the previous owner did a good job cutting off the fringe. Personally I prefer the fringeless look. I don't know if Indian ever offered tan bags w/o fringe but black ones were available sans fringe. Spools and quick release latche levers not included. If you have the OEM passenger backrest you already have the spools, just be sure they are the small spools. I believe Indian no longer sells these leather bags for the 14-18 small spool bikes. The replacement bags now require large spools which would mean swapping your present backrest (if you have one). Please pay immediately thank you.
